MSL Girls Badminton: State History
All the individual and team champions, medalists, trophy winners and other tidbits

The Mid-Suburban League wasted no time making an impact on the girls state badminton scene was Arlington won the first five titles under coach Mary Lou Hundt. It was also the first of three separate dynasties in the MSL with Palatine winning four titles under Kathy Crandall from 1985-91 and Fremd winning four crowns under Bob Hanson from 2007-24.
Janet Haberkorn and Karen Zobel would also win the state’s first doubles championship for Arlington in 1977. Prospect’s Jean Rezny finished fifth at singles in the first state meet and would come back and lead her alma mater to state trophies with a second-place finish in 2000 and tie for third in 2007.
