MSL History: We Are the IHSA Team Champions
All the league's team state champs by year, by sport, by school and other facts, figures
Mid-Suburban League schools have claimed more than 100 IHSA state championship trophies since Arlington won the first in boys cross country in 1967. Arlington did win state titles in boys golf, gymnastics and tennis when it was a member of the West Suburban Conference.
These lists encompass all sports characterized as such by the IHSA. This includes championships no longer contested by the IHSA such as girls archery, girls field hockey and boys gymnastics and IHSA championships that were added such as competitive cheerleading and girls flag football. There were also sports where IHSA postseason state championships were not contested from late in the winter of 2020 into the winter of 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The MSL History: Team State Champions” includes details by year, by sport and by school along with the coach of the championship team. There are also breakdowns that include most consecutive state titles in a sport, most coaching state titles, sports the league has not won a title in and more.

Always fun taking a trip back in time, or just next door. My next door neighbor of the past 37 years is Debbie Pasco...a member of that EG 1981 basketball team. State titles are pretty common over here on Sussex Court in Elk Grove Village.
